I have been trying to get out of my comfort zone. To stop painting so many faces. Of course one can always become more proficient, but I don’t really learn anything if I don’t start expanding my horizons..
Yesterday I bought some acrylic retarder and thought I would explore what slower drying times would do to my painting process. I have been frustrated with the all too short drying-time of acrylics for a while (I used to love it, now it’s mostly frustrating..)
I ended up painting a face without the retarder.. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks.. I’ll give it a new go tomorrow!
Pretty happy with the flesh-tones though!
